Writing Technology for Your Classroom

Posted by: Chris Angotti on 09/13/2012

This year marks the seventh anniversary of one of our most valuable partnerships. Since 2006, our friends at Renaissance Learning have helped us facilitate the NEO Loaner Program, an initiative to put writing technology into deserving classrooms around the United States.

During the month of November, four classrooms receive—absolutely free of charge—25 of the company’s NEO 2 word processors to use for their high-octane noveling. These little guys are tough and wireless, running for 700 hours on just three AA batteries. Teachers use them in all kinds of ways, but we’re most excited by how interactive and helpful they can be in running a project like NaNoWriMo.

If you believe that your classroom of novelists could benefit from the use of 25 NEOs in November, head to the Loaner Program page and tell us a little bit about your school and students.

Thanks to Renaissance Learning for making this cool, valuable program possible!
