You can add someone as a buddy by clicking the "Add as a buddy" link in his or her profile.
If you know a friend, classmate, or teacher's username, you can find them via "Search" on the homepage.
Once you send a request, he or she will receive a message under "My NaNoWriMo" → "Writing Buddies" → "Pending Requests." Once he or she confirms you as a buddy, the username will show up on your buddy list.
Make sure you check out "Pending Requests" on a regular basis to accept new buddies!
To remove someone as a buddy, go to "My NaNoWriMo" → "Writing Buddies" and click on "Remove [your buddy's name] from my buddy list." Click the "Remove" button again to confirm.
