Young Voices Rewrite Contest!
Calling all young novelists in grades 6–12!
The Young Voices Foundation contacted us last week to let us know about this awesome contest! YA authors Dr. Sacra Nicholas, Nancy Hendrix, and Barbara Fite wrote Through a Looking Glass Darkly in 1990, and they need your help now in rewriting the book for the modern young adult.
The dialogue needs to be updated and the characterization and setting adjusted to reflect the way young people interact with one another in today’s world. Cash prizes will be awarded for First, Second, and Third Place for entries that best bring the writing up to date while maintaining the original story line and message.
Check out all the guidelines for this contest here.
The Young Voices Foundation is always running contests, so keep your eye on their site. They even have contests for students in grades K–12. Check out the one they're running right now here!
Good luck!
