National Novel Writing Month makes every reasonable effort to comply with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (“COPPA”). Among COPPA’s terms is an allowance for educators to act as “parent proxies” to approve and enable their students to use online sites.

By creating a classroom on the YWP website, you accept that:

• You are an authorized educator associated with an established educational institution.

• You have reviewed the Terms & Conditions and Privacy Policy, and have approved your students’ use of the YWP website.

• You will share the Terms & Conditions and Privacy Policy with students’ parents at their request.

• You have requested approval, if necessary, from your school or district for your students to use the YWP website.

• You will act as an administrator and moderator for your students on the YWP website.

If you do not agree with terms above, you should not create a classroom on the YWP website.
