"Rosie Thompson and the Vile Association" by Ivy L.

“Something about this death just isn't adding up,” said Dr. Portas. “How could someone his age die of a heart attack? He was only 33 years old. There was only a 4% chance that he could even have a heart attack."

“He was also really healthy. Not overweight. No other known conditions,” said Dr. Smith.

“This just isn't making sense. I asked the people he was around and they all said he was acting normal,” said Dr. Johnson.

“Well, there is evidence of a heart attack, so we have to believe the facts,” said the lead doctor, Dr. Renshaw.

The doctors all agreed.

“Well, I guess that we can go out there and tell the press that Adam Peter Jacobson died of a heart attack while at work,” Dr. Johnson said.

The team of doctors left the John F. Kennedy Conference Room and were instantly swarmed by flashing cameras and microphones.

Rosie Thompson had overheard all of this.

She was in the vents above listening to their entire conversation. Once they were out of the room, she removed the screws that were holding the vent cover to the ceiling. She jumped out of the vent and onto the table. Her red, curly hair was covered in a thick coating of dust. She wiped off her glasses and quickly crawled off of the table and began writing down the names of the doctors that were in the room. Rosie took pictures of all of the medical records. As she looked through all of the papers, there were lots of things that didn't add up.

Adam Peter Jacobson was the former Director of the Central Intelligence Agency and had been visiting the president for his monthly debriefing report. He was also a very close friend to the first family and Rosie's favorite person in the entire world. Rosie didn't believe that he would die of a heart attack after all that he had been through. How could such a heroic life end that way? It should end in glory. Rosie was sensing that something was up with this supposed “heart attack” and she wanted to get to the bottom of it. She had to do this, for her hero.

As Rosie looked through the files, she wondered why all the medical examinations were done by the same doctor. That was suspicious.

For the time being, Dr. Renshaw was the number one suspect.
