First Off, What is 30 Covers, 30 Days?

30 Covers, 30 Days (aka 30C30D) is an event that happens every November in which 30 participants are selected to receive a brand new, unique cover for their novel. These covers are the courtesy of the talented (not to mention generous) professional graphic designers recruited by our amazing 30C30D coordinator, Debbie Millman.

Each designer has 96 hours to design a cover, and one of these covers will be posted every day of November on the NaNoWriMo blog, forums, and Instagram!

What should I know as a Young Writer? Is 30C30D different for me?

We're dedicating 7 days to novels from YWP writers. You're welcome to nominate this year's novel of whatever genre you want! You don't have to use your real name if you're not comfortable with that; we encourage you to come up with a fun pen name! Likewise, if you don't have an email address of your own, feel free to use that of your parent, guardian, or educator.

Otherwise, the process is pretty much the same!

(Here's a secret: You can even nominate someone else's novel! Have a buddy whose project is pretty awesome, nominate them!)

Are there any rules? Regulations? Restrictions?

Well sure! Here are some guidelines and information that would probably be useful. So:

• Read over the form carefully before submitting. You can’t go back and edit things after submitting. If you need to correct something, please submit a Withdrawal Form before re-submitting your novel.

• You don’t have to share your real/legal name on the nomination form. If you have a pen name, a preferred name, or any other kind of name you want to use, that’s OK by us.

• Please don’t nominate novels via the forum! That’s what the form is for, and those are the submissions we’ll be reviewing to send off to artists.

• The form will remain open until November 15th, so if you don’t know what your novel is about just yet, don’t worry! Take some time to figure out, and nominate when you’re ready. As long as it’s before November 15th.

• The Art Class forum on the YWP site is a great place to go if you want to make a cover, or if you can’t imagine sitting through the suspense of 30C30D. Head over there and connect with graphically minded people!
