1) Write a satisfying ending.

Writing a satisfying ending is all about understanding your characters. Think about your protagonist and ask yourself: what did this character believe about themselves and their world at the beginning of the book? How have the events of the story changed those beliefs? Find a way to show that change by forcing your character to make a difficult choice that affects the outcome of the story.

2) Trust that you'll find your flow.

There are days when the words just fly out of you and there are days when you feel so completely stuck you fear you might never type another sentence. Both are a part of the process of being a writer, and you have to trust that the tough days won’t last forever, and the words will flow again.

3) Write towards the fun.

If you are having fun writing your book, write toward that feeling. That joy will do two things: one, it will guide you toward the heart of the story you’re trying to tell. And two, it will show up on the page, where readers will feel it too.

Writing Dare: Take a moment to make a list of your main character's guiding beliefs about themselves and the world they live in at the beginning of your story. (Maybe they think that they'll have a specific career, or that they'll never leave their hometown, or that Bigfoot is leaving them secret messages.) Then, write out the ways each of these beliefs are either confirmed or disproved by the end of your story, so you can figure out how your characters grow to understand their own beliefs.
