Three Helpful Tips

1) Create a feasible writing schedule and stick to it. It's so important for me to carve out time that's specifically for writing, especially if you aren't writing full time.

2) Try to set a goal during each writing session (i.e. a word count or scene goal). That way you'll stay motivated while writing and you'll know what you're working toward.

3) Eyes on your own paper! The grass is always greener on the other side, and it's easy to get caught up in looking at what other people are doing. But worrying about other people and their work just takes away from focusing on our own projects.

Writing Dare: Write a scene with a character who can't stop envying something another character has, whether that's greener grass, nicer clothes, or a dog that does backflips.
