What is Camp NaNoWriMo?

Camp NaNoWriMo is a community writing challenge that happens in April and July.

It's different from NaNoWriMo in November because you can work on any type of creative project, not just a novel. First drafts or revision, scripts or stories or poems or essays—all are welcome!

It's different from setting a personal challenge because you'll be participating alongside thousands of other writers, all trying to reach their goal by the end of the month. We'll cheer each other on and NaNo HQ will provide extra support like Camp Counselor advice, webcasts, virtual write-ins, winner certificates, and more!

How can you participate?

• Set your Camp goal on the YWP site and write in our one-of-a-kind writing space, complete with stats, charts, dares, and word sprints.  Just accept the Camp NaNoWriMo dare to get started! 
  

• Decide what kind of support you need. Working on a novel? Check out our Young Novelist Workbooks or NaNo Prep 101 Workbook! Need something different? Explore the Camp Tracks we offer on nanowrimo.org, including resources for finishing a novel, revising a novel, world-building, writing a memoir, and more! (You don't need a NaNoWriMo account to see them, don't worry!)

• Are you an educator? Lead your whole class on a month of creativity, or challenge your most enthusiastic students to participate on their own. Explore our teaching resources (they work outside of November!)
